UPDATE 08-24-2020 6pm At the end of the day the character of a man is measured how he reacts to adversity. This evening I received a phone call from Chris and he worked with me to make things right. He looked at my leak, diagnosed it and we both came up with a solution. This act alone has won me over. Rexburg needs mechanics like 0500, would recommend to anybody in need, 0500 will work with you to get you back on the road again. They’re very reasonable and honest, just communicate with them and they’ll help. 08-24-2029 9am This is nothing personal. The staff is very polite and the owner, Chris, really wants to help the customer. The reason I am giving it a one star review is because last week while driving from IF my truck broke down on the freeway. I had to push/drive until it broke down again for about a mile, this repeated a total of three times. By the time I got to 0500 I was exhausted and in need. I got checked in and all was great. I told them my issues and told them what I thought was the problem; check gauge light was on so it was either low coolant, gas, or oil. They really wanted to help. The next business day I received a call and was told my truck was driven around to Thornton and back and worked fine. It was also hooked up to a computer to diagnose. The mechanic found nothing wrong. I was upset because clearly something was wrong. I came in to share my disappointed but was met with the same mechanic who checked me in. Goodbye Mr. Smile, I was received with condescension and argument. I said I didn’t want to argue and then paid the $114 I was charged. Today I, an unprofessional, amateur everyday man found the issue: low oil and a TERRIBLE leak. Had the technician checked my oil level he would’ve come to the same conclusion, clearly he didn’t. I called the 0500 to tell them my concern, they let me down. Same technician answered and another attempt at argument ensued. 0500 you let this honest customer down. I would have loved to have done business (my leak needs fixing) but if I paid you $100 to drive my car around and put a computer on it (something oreileys does free) what guarantee do I have that you won’t let me down again? I hope you read this and we can work something out. Your technician made it clear that you have qualified technicians. Please prove it. You have my number. I’m not here to argue. It’s just business.
